Amazon Prime Video released the first trailer for the Japanese interpretation of the Modern Love live-action anthology series, Modern Love Tokyo, which features an anime episode directed by ex-Kyoto Animation director Naoko Yamada, who has since helmed The Heike Story after leaving KyoAni. The trailer features snippets of the fondness felt in the episode along with the other six live-action episodes.

Yamada's "Kare ga Kanaderu Futari no Shirabe (The music for the two played by him)" short is the only anime episode in Modern Love Tokyo with Haru Kuroki (Mirai Ota in Mirai) and Masataka Kubota (Ken Kaneki in the Tokyo Ghoul live-action films)as the two lead characters, Tamami Sakurai and Rin Kajitani respectively. The story is about Tamami, who cannot say what she wants to say and her sweet and sour memories of her school days with Rin, whom she cared for in her heart but is now estranged from.
