The Kitauji High School Concert Band Club is at it again, and now a new teaser trailer, a new key visual, and a new cast member have been revealed for Tokubetsu-hen Hibike! Euphonium ~Ensemble Concert~ ("Sound! Euphonium Special Edition ~Ensemble Concert~"), an upcoming theatrical original animation video that continues the story of the popular anime based on the novel series by Ayano Takeda.

 

In the upcoming OAV, voice actor Ayaka Ohashi plays the role of Tsubame Kamaya, a second year student who is in charge of percussion in the Concert Band Club.

The original Sound! Euphonium novels are published in Japan by Takarajimasha under their Takarajimasha Bunko imprint, and an English language version is available from Yen Press. Crunchyroll currently streams the Sound! Euphonium TV anime, and describes the story of the series as follows:

 

Spring in the first year of high school. Kumiko, a member of the brass band in junior high school, visits the high school brass band club with classmates Hazuki and Sapphire. There, she comes across Reina, her former classmate from junior high. Hazuki and Sapphire decide to join the club, but Kumiko can’t make up her mind. She recollects her experience with Reina at a competition in junior high school.

Tokubetsu-hen Hibike! Euphonium ~Ensemble Concert~ is directed by Tatsuya Ishihara and features animation production by Kyoto Animation. The theatrical OAV will be screened at 74 theaters throughout Japan beginning on August 04, 2023.
